Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name:
You are mine.
You are precious in my eyes
And honored, and I love you.
I have called you by name:
You are mine.
You are precious in my eyes
And honored, and I love you.
{ Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat, nor about your body, what you shall put on. For life is more than food and the body is more than clothing. Instead, seek His Kingdom, and all these things shall be yours as well. } Luke 12:22-23, 31 🌸 Don't be anxious?! Seriously Jesus? Have you ever walked this earth? Do you know what it's like to leave your home and go off to college? Oh wait, you do know what it is like to be anxious. To move around to different places with no secure home. To not have a steady flow of income or a definite meal waiting for you every night. You know all these struggles and more. You know what it's like to be so anxious, that You sweat blood as You beg God to let this cup pass. You know what it's like to be taken away from your friends, stripped, beaten, and betrayed by Your own people. You knew that You'd have to take up the sins of the world in the weight of the cross. You knew that in order to fulfill Your father's will you would have to suffer a criminal's death. You knew that Your anxieties would become a reality... || And You loved me enough to follow through with everything You promised. || 🙏🏻 • We love you too Jesus. We thank You for not only giving us the grace to get through every struggle, but also for understanding all of our anxieties. We can never thank You enough for what you have done for us. Jesus we trust in You. •

You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. • Matthew 5:48 •
God calls us to be perfect.... But what we sometimes forget is that perfection in the world's eyes is completely different than perfection in Heaven's eyes. So which perfect are we called to be? I love to think about the big picture to answer this question. This earthly life is temporary; however, heaven is FOREVER. As I meditate on the wonders of the only world I've ever known being temporary and a world I have yet to see being forever, this quote comes to mind: "I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is." As much as it seems like those who are 'perfect' in worldly standards are the happiest, I know that their happiness doesn't even compare to the joy, comfort, strength, and freedom only Jesus can provide through walking His ways of perfection. God is literally the One, who created our hearts. He made us so that ONLY authentic good could make us truly happy. When we genuinely strive for perfection in God's eyes, we begin our journey to Heaven. God created us to want more than this earth has to offer. This is the exact reason why sometimes we accomplish a goal here on earth, still to be left empty longing for something more. The "more" we are longing for is God. Our hearts were created to be holy journeying within God's will toward our everlasting paradise in Heaven! "The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw man to himself. Only in God will he find the truth and happiness he never stops searching for." • CCC 27 • "Sometimes we expect too little of God..."
Literally EVERYTHING in life has/will disappoint me at some point. (Losing a game, making a bad grade, getting injured, being rejected, etc) Every earthly being & thing has its flaws; however, the ONE thing that never ever fails is God. He uses all things to work together for our good... AT ALL TIMES. {Romans 8:28} Sometimes we forget how great our God really is. Sometimes we expect way too little of God. Sometimes we doubt that God can do great things, and sometimes we are just plain blind when He actually is doing great things. Especially when it comes to the Eucharist, let us never forget that we can actually recieve Jesus at mass. Let us never forget how much we should expect from God. Let us never fail to realize how much He has already given us with His only Son Jesus present in the Eucharist at every single mass! I literally hate the phrase "typical white girl"
We always throw it around not actually thinking much of it (yes it can be funny at times). But I've never actually wanted to put myself in this category. Honestly, my heart longs to be much more than typical. One of the biggest lessons I've learned in high school is not to judge myself by others' standards When comparing yourself to earthly standards, you may seem to be doing just fine. But are these earthly standards going to last forever? If you think that you will never die, well frankly you need to see a doctor. So let's be honest, is God going to judge us using this world's standards? {Heck no} If this world lived by the standards of God, the earth would be like heaven: full of unending joy! Unfortunately, this world is very flawed due to our weak human nature.. The good news is that where there is weakness, there is also an opportunity to get stronger! To get better! To grow in holiness closer to God & eternal happiness in Heaven! God created each of us to be unique. One of a kind. Unrepeatable. God wants us to embrace who He created us to be and LIVE IT TO THE FULLEST. "The glory of God is man fully alive." St. Irenaeus God loves His creation and He longs to have a relationship with us. A unique relationship. He wants us to talk to Him in our own special way. If that's belting worship music in the car to praise Him, then He absolutely loves when you do that. Or maybe your unique relationship with God is dedicating every crunch in your workout to Him. Whatever it may be that makes you special, God adores you for exactly that. He created us for much more than what this world have to offer. So why limit ourselves with standards of this short-lived life? Be different! Be who God created you to be! "Walk with your feet on earth but your heart in Heaven" Since today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, I cannot pass up this opportunity to talk about the Eucharist!
I LOVE the Eucharist. Although sometimes it's easy to forget what the Eucharist actually is & does. [ The source & summit of the Christian life is the Eucharist: Christ Himself living & glorious is present in a true, real, & substantial manner in the Body & Blood with His soul & divinity {CCC 1324 & 1413} ] Which means... Jesus literally is present in the Eucharist. Just as physical food nourishes our bodies, this spiritual food nourishes our souls. We hear every mass what Jesus told his disciples: "Take this all of you, and eat of it, for THIS IS MY BODY." Jesus gives Himself to us at every single mass. By giving Himself to us in the Eucharist, we come into communion with Him. We are filled with God's presence, which strengthens us with His grace which far surpasses our weak human nature! Plus Jesus gives us a bonus & washes away our venial sins every time we receive the Eucharist. The one & only thing we must do in order to benefit tremendously every time we receive the Eucharist is BELIEVE. Without faith, these things will not happen. But if you even attempt the slightest bit to have faith the size of a mustard seed, God will definitely fill your heart with His joy & strength as you receive Him. What if your brain just "can't even"? Tell God! Talk to Him. Tell him straight up: 'God I'm having a hard time believing that You are truly present. Please help my unbelief.' God already knows so why not just give it a little try! Oh & what also may help an unbelieving soul is googling Eucharistic miracles 😉 The genuine desire & reception of the Eucharist is literally the BEST thing this earth has to offer. of the pew, walk up to the alter, open our hands, & receive communion... Do we realize that Jesus (yes Jesus truly real & present) is giving Himself to us in the Eucharist? The source and summit of the Christian life is the Eucharist: Christ Himself living & glorious is present in a true, real, & substantial manner in the Body & Blood with His soul & divinity {CCC 1324 & 1413 |
